The bio-nanoindenter is a nano-indenter specially used for testing the mechanical properties of soft materials, filling the gap in the mechanical properties of biological tissues and soft materials in the traditional measurement methods. The bio-nanoindenter of Optics11Life uses the patented Fiber On Top fiber probe technology combined with the feedback loop of the interferometer to facilitate high-precision measurements in indentation scenarios such as quasi-static, stress relaxation/creep and dynamic mechanical properties analysis. These features ensure excellent accuracy of force sensing and indentation depth control. This precision is essential for accurately evaluating complex mechanical properties such as nonlinearity, adhesion, viscoelasticity and poroelasticity, and can provide detailed insights into material behavior. The device has a wide range of applications and can be widely used in various polymers, gels, tissues, cells, microstructures, etc. This lecture covers the principles and applications of the bio-nanoindenter.
