Dear Teachers and Students,
The Instrumentation and Service Center for Physical Sciences (ISCPS) will host a lunch seminar titled "Nanoparticles Characterization by Light Scattering: Principles, Applications and Practice of Particle Size and Zeta Potential Analysis" on Friday, April 24, 2026. Teachers and students who are interested are warmly welcome to register and attend.
Date & Time: Friday, April 24, 2026, 11:40 AM - 1:10 PM
Venue: Classroom E10-320, Yungu Campus
Topic: Nanoparticles Characterization by Light Scattering: Principles, Applications and Practice of Particle Size and Zeta Potential Analysis
Speaker: Yuxiang Zhang, Service Engineer
Host: Dr. Ying Nie
Introduction:
The NanoBrook ZetaPALS nanoparticle size and zeta potential analyzer employs dynamic light scattering (DLS) technology for particle size measurement, facilitating accurate, efficient, and convenient characterization of nanoscale and submicron particulate systems. For zeta potential determination, the instrument adopts hardware-based phase analysis light scattering (PALS) technology, which exhibits excellent adaptability to complex measurement scenarios, including low dielectric constant solvents, systems near the isoelectric point of samples, and high ionic strength media. This advanced technology significantly enhances the stability and reliability of zeta potential testing under special conditions. It has been extensively applied in the characterization and analysis of diverse fields, such as biomedicine and life sciences, nanomaterial science, chemical engineering, environmental and water treatment, as well as polymer materials.
Contents of this presentation: instrumental principles, technical merits, data analysis, case studies and operation training.
